PRESIDENT/ FOUNDER - LIVINGSTONE AMASAYE LIVINGSTONE MEMBERE
A Youth Leader, an Environmental Activist, and a Peace Advocate, a trained Environmental Manager, a
Chemical/ Petrochemical Engineer and a Community Development Worker who has
carved a niche in the NGO sector. He has a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering and
a Master of Philosophy (in view) in Environmental Management from the
University of Science and Technology in Port Harcourt Nigeria. He also has
certificates in Conflict Analysis; Sustainable Livelihood Assessment; Programme
Management; and other short term courses.
Livingstone has worked notable non-governmental
organizations such as Our Niger Delta (OND), Niger Delta Peace and Security
Strategy (PASS), Enterprise for Development International (EfDI), Academic
Associates PeaceWorks (AAPW), Growing Businesses Foundation (GBF) and
Southernfield Development Partners, either as a consultant or a Program staff.
His passion and commitment to sustainable development has made him work in more
than 270 communities in Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Akwa Ibom states of
the Niger Delta. He currently manages the sustainable development desk of the Okrika Local Government Council, Rivers State, Nigeria.
He has carried out researches both independently and as a
part of a team in the Niger Delta region. Notable among his works is the
facilitation of Sustainable Livelihood Assessment (SLA) in Ekeni and Ezetu
communities under the Chevron GMoU framework, Sustainable Livelihood Characterisation of Egi Communities, and Impact Assessment of
Sustainable Development Projects in Egi Land for Total Nigeria Limited, Impact Assessment of the NLNG Microcredit Scheme in Rivers State, and Baseline
Assessment and the development of Integrated and Sustainable Development Plans for Onne and Bera communities in Rivers State. He was also involved in the
deployment of SPDC’s GMoU Model both at the conception and implementation
phases.
In 2005, Livingstone was a part of the team that facilitated the rehabilitation of militants from Rivers state at the Sheri Hill Centre, Jos.
Livingstone was also a part of the team that conceived, designed and implemented the first ever partnership platform for the Rivers State Government – The Rivers State Partners for Sustainable Development. Having an expansive knowledge of the dynamics of the Niger Delta communities, Livingstone is a valuable asset to anyone who desires to make a positive impact in the region.
He is currently working on "Strategies for the Protecting Niger Delta's Mangrove forests".
